When Peace Fails

This paper argues how Allied attempts at appeasement, peace treaties, and containment during the Interwar period empowered Hitler. Diplomacy failed to stop Hitler’s quest for power by failing to hold him accountable, which in turn enabled him to gain popular support in Germany, build military power, and invade surrounding countries with little resistance.

The Economic Collapse of the Soviet Union

This paper argues how, although the economic collapse of the USSR had been slowly approaching for decades, Mikhail Gorbachev’s reforms accelerated its downfall. Perestroika, his attempt to restructure the state-controlled economy to a more market-like system, pushed the already unstable Union into collapse.

Dissolved Oxygen Levels and Aquatic Plants

This report, which won the Hudson Data Jam national award in 2021, analyzes the levels of dissolved oxygen in aquatic habitats along the Hudson River and the impact invasive species have on the ecosystem.

LEGO Product Idea

LEGO products marketed toward girls are often less complex than those designed for boys. To address this, I developed a proof of concept for a new product designed to enable girls to exercise their engineering and design skills through more cognitively demanding LEGO kits.
